Ameris Bank Mortgage Group Grows In Savannah Area

Savannah, GA - Ameris Bank recently announced the addition of four Mortgage Banking professionals to the Ameris Bank team in the Savannah Market: Craig Meyer, Joanne Jenkins and Ellen Spivey. This growth represents an effort by Ameris Bank to create a stronger Mortgage Banking presence in the Savannah area and serve customers with stronger product offerings overall. Craig Meyer was named Mortgage Branch Manager; Joanne Jenkins and Ellen Spivey were named Mortgage Bankers; and Wendy Reeve was named Mortgage Operations Manager. Meyer and Reeve will work out of the Bank's Whitemarsh Island location, Jenkins from the location on Mall Boulevard, and Spivey from the Pooler location on Pooler Parkway. Each will work closely with Branch Managers at their respective locations and with Market President Austen Carroll.
E. Craig Meyer – Meyer has extensive banking and mortgage experience having held management positions at SouthTrust Mortgage Corp. and Regions Mortgage. Meyer boasts as many as 5,000 homes financed over his 32-year Mortgage Banking career. He was awarded Mortgage Banker of the Year in 1996 by the Mortgage Bankers Association and was honored by being selected for the Savannah Home Builders Housing Hall of Fame. Deeply involved in the community, Meyer is a past President of the Home Builders Associations of Georgia and Savannah, the current Commodore of Savannah Yacht Club and a past Commissioner of the Chatham-Savannah Metropolitan Planning Commission. Meyer is a graduate of Leadership Savannah. He attended Armstrong State College and was a member of the Georgia Air National Guard. Craig and his wife, Cindy, reside on Tybee Island. "This is a fantastic opportunity to join a great group of experienced Mortgage Bankers in creating this new mortgage operation in Savannah," Meyer stated.
Joanne Jenkins – Jenkins has nearly ten years lending experience in Savannah, and prior experience in accounting and treasury management. She holds a math degree from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. She is a member of St. James Catholic Church and sings in the SVA Alumnae Choir. Joanne and her husband Joseph live in Savannah. Jenkins states, "I am delighted to be at Ameris Bank. Excellent rates combined with outstanding customer service will prove to be a winning combination for our customers in Savannah.”
Ellen Spivey – Spivey joins Ameris Bank from Regions Mortgage, and prior to this position, she held positions as a Producing Manager and Sales Manager with Wachovia/Wells Fargo from 2000 to 2010. She has extensive knowledge in the mortgage industry and is happy to be joining the Ameris Bank team as a Mortgage Banker. Ellen has lived in the Pooler area for 8 years. She has 2 children and is the proud “MeMe” of 2 grandchildren Clara and Caleb.
Wendy Reeve – Reeve has over 23 years of mortgage operational experience and has worked with each member of this mortgage team from 5 to 12 years. Prior to joining Ameris Bank, Reeve held positions in mortgage operations for Regions Mortgage, MetLife Home Mortgage and SouthTrust Mortgage. Wendy is dedicated to keeping her knowledge current so that she can effectively and efficiently assist and expedite mortgage loan closings. Wendy and her husband Alan live in Ellabell and are members of Ephesus Church.
